Lady Gwendolyn Davis
It was her destiny to be the elect lady of New True Vine Miracle Tabernacle. She has been in training for this chosen position since age 10 when she first received the gift of the Holy Ghost. She was taught by the example of Pastor Travis Lawrence that prayer, study and fasting are the keys to success in God. She was told by Pastor Harese Lawrence that she would hold a very high office in the church but had no idea that it would be that of first lady.
She has been active in many areas of the ministry since that time. She saw the need for youth to be involved and worked in many youth programs to get the youth involved in church activities including youth choir, Vacation Bible School and other programs. As a young person, she never felt that she was drug to the church because she enjoyed church services and activities.
She always says that her church sent her to college because she received so much support from the pastors and members of the church throughout her college years. She returned home after graduation with a business degree in education and continued working in the church. Her teaching experience has been a plus in the ministry and coincides with her calling as a teacher. Her goal is to train both young and old to be Bible scholars who truly love and understand God’s Word and who will want to share the Word by teaching others. She currently teaches or coordinates the Daughters of Divine Destiny, Sons of the Savior, Sunday School, Young Peoples Training Union, Light the Fire youth services, Vacation Bible School, a marriage seminar for couples, and various other teachings.
She loves music and has enjoyed directing and singing in the choir for many years. She still has a desire to learn to play the piano.
The love of her life found her at True Vine when he and four-year old Little Chris came to check her out at True Vine in May of 1987. Pastor Chris and she fell in love on their second date and were married in September of 1987. Together they had three boys. Her love for music has passed on to the boys who are all musicians and love music as well. Many expected a baby girl, but instead the Davis’ got the privilege to finish raising her 15 year old cousin, LaQuinta, who has blessed them with a “granddaughter” Eden Grace.
Her mentor is the Proverbs 31 woman. By faith she believes that she is already that Proverbs 31 woman. She strives daily to take on more and more characteristics of this virtuous woman.
